“The Great Escape”

How’s that for a fun title? It’s a bit ala Carol Marine, who seems to deal with a lot of runaway fruit, lol.
Speaking of talented artists, I am a huge fan of Terry Miura and practically died and went to heaven after reading his most recent blog post. More than anything, I want to paint those kind of dreamy landscapes that you can just get lost looking at. Seriously, I could stare at them forever. If you too want to stare at them forever, here’s a link

But, as I move closer to approaching the 1 year anniversary of my quest to learn to paint, I recognize that I need to control color. I must learn to calm down my paint. It’s waaaay too saturated for where I am wanting to go. The good news is, that I am determined, lol.

Amy, I think all of your works are so beautiful. I’ve not noticed a too much saturation of color, honestly. In this piece, I really love that bowl and wish I could see it live and in person. Yes, the oddest things do attract my attention. I know the oranges are the stars here, but the bowl just draws me in.
Amy, this is a gorgeous piece. You are one talented lady, I can’t believe you haven’t been painting longer.
Hi Amy,
I haven’t stopped by in a while, I was thinking about you this week and thought I would drop in to tell you that your blog is one of my favorites! Your use of color is the main reason I’m drawn to your work, your paintings are fresh, simple and not overworked. I also enjoy how you share your feelings about what you’re working on.
Please don’t subdue the colors too much! : )
